Hi. I'm Pastor Bob and this is a picture of my wonderful family.
There is my bride and best friend, Ronda, who married me in 1985. Our older son, Tim, is to the left, and Ben is between us.
We've had the pleasure of being part of the Pleasanton Evangelical Free Church since I was called to be Senior Pastor
December of 1999.
Here's a snapshot of my background. I was born in Napa and have lived in Northern California my entire life.
About half that time was spent in the Bay Area, and the other half in the San Joaquin Valley where I met Ronda.
I graduated from Fresno Pacific University in 1978 with a B.A. in two majors, Contemporary Christian Ministries and Psychology.
Later, I received my M.A. from MB Biblical Seminary in Fresno (1981).
I have served as Associate Pastor of Youth Ministries at First Christian Church of Sanger (1978-1979),
Associate Pastor of Youth Ministries at Salem Evangelical Free Church of Sanger (1979-1986),
Associate Pastor at Evangelical Free Church of Newark (1986-1998),
and Associate Pastor at Evangelical Free Church of Manteca (1999).
Enough of the dry stuff since I've been asked to give a glimpse of who I am: what I do to relax,
what some of my interests are, and what I'm passionate about. So, if you want to know more, keep reading!
During an average week, you can probably catch me watching a baseball or football game.
Sitting still is not my forté so if the game is on TV, I often read a book or surf the net.
On a day off, Ronda and I enjoy taking a drive and checking out little restaurants whether they be diners, drive-ins, or dives.
In reality though, most of our free time is spent watching Ben play football, basketball,
or baseball at Valley Christian High School.
Recently, we've had the opportunity to listen to or watch Tim broadcast a game on ibnsports.com.
High on my interest list is watching, coaching, and playing sports.
These days, playing sports usually means youth group games and church flag football games.
Over the years, I've been blessed to travel to interesting places, visiting Central America, Europe, Africa,
and 40 of the 50 United States with a goal to see them all.
Although I love to laugh and tell jokes, what really peaks my interest is starting up conversations with complete strangers,
especially when there's an opportunity to bring up the Gospel.
I love Jesus, my wife, and my sons. I love to study, preach, and teach the Bible with a passion for the local church.
Youth ministry has always held a special place in my heart, so when God called me to be senior pastor here,
I was doubly blessed to also head up the youth group and I'm still enjoying that privilege today.
Totally convinced of God's passion for us to study His Word and pray as individuals and families,
I am equally convinced of His desire for us to do these together in the local church.
This is why I'd love to see all of our adults involved in small groups, memorizing Scripture, and gathering together to pray.
As we grow together in the body of Christ, then we can reach out to a lost world that desperately needs Jesus.
Let me invite you to contact me if you have any questions, a need to talk,
or simply want to know what the Good News about Jesus Christ is. I'd love to meet you!
